This is the second volume of the Haruhi Suzumiya light novels. Credit for the translation goes to Baka Tsuki.  As you can tell by the title, Haruhi is bored, so it’s naturally time to do something crazy.  The second volume covers the events of the filming of Haruhi’s movie for the school cultural festival.  The first season of the Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya anime did not show these events in any episodes, but we saw the product of Haruhi’s crazy movie making skills in “the Adventures of Mikuru Asahina …

It’s a shame that they did not release the translated versions of the Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya light novels along with the anime DVDs in North America (EDIT: Haruhi Suzumiya light novels are available in English as of 2009) . The author of the series, Nagaru Tanigawa , is a great writer and deserves to have his work available to fans of Haruhi who unfortunately don’t know Japanese. The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya was not Tanigawa-sensei’s first book, but is by far his most popular series. It was …
