Haruhi Suzumiya manga by Mizuno Makoto

Mizuno Makoto’s The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya manga was the first manga adaptation of Nagaru Tanigawa’s original light novels. Because Tanigawa had very little input about this manga, the story varies considerably from the Haruhi Suzumiya light novels.  It ran in Shonen Ace from May to December of 2004, and was canceled after just one volume (5 chapters) due to unpopularity with fans. Apparently when Gaku Tsugano’s version of the Haruhi Suzumiya manga was serialized by Shonen Ace in 2005, it was declared “the first manga adaptation”, thus completely ignoring the existence Makoto’s version.

As far as we are aware, the sole volume Mizuno Makoto’s Haruhi manga has never been translated into English or any other non-Japanese language, but we do have the raw version available for download if you’re interested in taking a peek.
