This is the video message from Minori Chihara which was shown to attendees of the Bandai Entertainment panel at Otacon 2010 as mentioned in the previous post. Minori Chihara, who does Yuki Nagato’s voice in the Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya anime, talks about meeting fans and touring California three years ago, and how excited and anxious she is about being the Guest of Honor at the New York Anime Festival (Oct 8-10), which she will be attending.

Haruhi media has been spotted in a “Akihabara Majokko Princess” music video from actress Kirsten Dunst, McG and Takashi Murakami.  The video was shot in Tokyo’s Akihabara district and features Dunst singing The Vapors’ “Turning Japanese” song while cosplaying as a Majokko (Mahou Shoujo or Magic Girl). Dunst is a self-professed chidhood Sailor Moon fan and has provided dubbing for the English version of Kiki’s Delivery Service film in the past. Found this one on Youtube yesterday and thought it was pretty clever: all eight episodes from the Endless Eight arc played simultaneously side-by-side in one 25 minute video.  If you haven’t watched all of Endless Eight yet, this will save you 175 minutes of your time but will probably give you a big headache trying to process all of it :p

Following their last video to promote the soundtrack for the new Haruhi Suzumiya movie, Lantis has today posted a music video promoting the main theme song that will be used in the movie. The song, named “Yasashii Bokyaku” (Kindly Forget) is sang by Minori Chihara, who is the Japanese Seiyuu for Yuki Nagato. The gentle and somewhat sad tune comes off as a fitting melody for the events of ‘Disappearance’ from Yuki’s point of view. There are less than 10 days now until the movie premiers in Japan.
