I guess this is a second parter to the Kyonko post. Although not as popular as Kyonko, you can’t have a female Kyon without a male Haruhi. Some people have taken to calling the male Suzumiya-san as Haruki, others go by Haruhiko. If you think about it, Haruhi’s tomboyish characteristics transfer pretty well into an aggressive but quirky male character. Give Kyonko a tsundere personality and you have the prefect pairing. One of oddities which emerged from the Haruhi Suzumiya anime is the rise in popularity of “Kyonko”. Now it’s obvious that this name is a play on Kyon’s name. It is common with Japanese names to add a -ko suffix to a name in order to make it feminine. Examples: Kyo -> Kyoko. And you guessed it, Kyonko is the female version of Kyon.
