Yesterday, the ASOS Brigade released some details about the Season 2 DVDs of the Haruhi Suzumiya TV series on their Facebook page. The DVDs will be released on August 17, 2010 at a suggested retail price of $64.98 USD. The DVDs come with a bundle of special features such as ‘Behind the Scenes of Aya Hirano’s Music Video’, ‘Endless Eight Prologue’ and CD tracks for ‘Super Driver’ and ‘Tomare!’

Japanese Language Dialogue / English Language Dialogue / Optional English Subtitles / Interactive Menus / Location Scouting Videos / Behind the Scenes of Aya Hirano’s Music Video / Endless Eight Prologue /Special Event Video / Promo Videos/ Commercials / Adventures of the ASOS Brigade Episodes / CD Tracks: Super Driver / Tomare!

65 dollars for the entire season sounds pretty good. The only bad thing is that DVDs are region-locked and I doubt they are going to release the DVDs in the Europe region.

@Survivor: Although I don’t see why they won’t release it in Europe, I doubt they will too… I mean, is even the first season released here? Haruhi worldwide, please.

Well, it could be many things. Like a short video shoiwng Haruhi in her room, on the last day of summer, thinking “this summer wasn’t good enough. We missed something. I don’t want summer to end”. Or whatever.

The Endless Eight Prologue is a feature that was on the third R2 limited edition DVD disc where Tomokazu Sugita read the prologue from the fifth novel (right before the actual story in the novel). It’s placed over three still frames of the group returning from the Lone Island mystery.

Well, it is relatively easy to get a hold of a region free DVD player these days and even easier to get software based region free DVD players on PC.

Also many DVD players can be hacked with a simple remote button code to enable multi region playback which is intended for the manufacturer to set region!

Europeans should be safe to import this bundle provided they do a little bit of googling first!

Uhh guys, I have volume 4 of the limited edition dvds and it’s region 2(Japan and Europe) and I ordered them from a shop called Sub City, and I can order the rest of them too. Anyway, Can’t wait for season 2!

DVDs are region-locked. American DVDs can’t be played on European DVD players.

I did saw the season 1 episodes on amazon.co.uk, but not a DVD that contains all the episodes on DVD, only DVDs that have 3 episodes each. So that’s why i’ve been holding off a little, praying that a complete bundle will to Europe.

I really, REALLY hope that, when they say “Tomare!” and “Super Driver” CD tracks, they mean the original versions. Not Cristina Valenzuela’s versions. I have nothing wrong with most of Cristina’s fandubs, but her versions of “Super Driver”, and “Tomare!” feel kinda wrong. That, and Aya Hirano is too amazing to not have on the CDs.

Endless Eight is a series of 8 episodes that end of in a endless loop on a never ending summer. It starts in the second episode in and everything that happens after that is similar in how the do everything and how it happens, clothing and dialogue is slightly different.

But I’ll have you know it still was entertaining to watch.
Plus I’m pretty sure the movie will be AWESOME

I got an email from amazon saying they could not find any copies so i drove 40 minutes to best buy and they did not have it. checked several websites and they all said release was Sep.14th.
