5 June 2010 19 Comments

As part of a “The Summer of Haruhi Suzumiya” cooperative promotion between Bandai Entertainment, Crunchyroll, and Yen Press, a one-night-only screening of the Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya movie (English subtitles) will be shown on June 24th at the Laemmle’s Sunset 5 theater in Hollywood, L.A.

Haruhi series English Voice actress Stephanie Sheh (Mikuru) will appear with more cast to be announced as they confirm availability. Stephanie will be autographing the theatrical poster from the film which will be given away to attending theatre goers.

Cristina Vee of Bandai’s ASOS Brigade.com will be performing several of the series songs in English and Japanese prior to the film and attendees will be treated to a Haruhi manga and novel giveaway courtesy of Yen Press (while supplies last, so come early!) and Crunchyroll will raffle off 10 three month memberships and five one-year anime memberships to lucky attendees.

Special notice to Cosplayers: if you come to the theatre in a Haruhi costume, you’ll get an extra prize!

Laemmle’s Sunset 5 is located at 8000 Sunset Blvd., Los Angeles, CA – (323) 848-3500. Tickets will go on sale the night of June 1st.

In other news, the Melancholy of Haruhi-chan Suzumiya Manga will be coming out in October.

but since I don’t live at that part of the world….will Crunchyroll stream the movie???? because this would be the only way I can watch it!
if not, what about this cooperation ?? (between Bandai Entertainment, Crunchyroll, and Yen Press)

It’s only for one night? Well, let’s hope they choose to screen it elsewhere too.

When will they come to Europe?

Yeah, if this comes to London I’m so there!

I’m excited, my dad said he might take me.

Yeah, it might go to London. Maybe it’ll even make it to Spain, or France… It might even reach Germany or Italy.

But if this movie reachs here, Portugal, then Haruhi (God) really does exist.

  • Tchi said:

If it only came to Spain in July, cause that’s where I’ll be having my vacation this summer :D That’d be so darn nice.

I’m pretty sure I’ll be able to go. Even though I already went to the San Fran premiere, LA is much closer to me and I won’t miss a chance to see this movie on the big screen one more time XD

seems like they never reach Australia, come on ANIME black bhole here!

  • Rusty Shackleford said:

They’ve got to bring the movie to the east coast. I’m sure they’d draw some solid crowds if they do it in a place like NYC, DC, or Boston.

Hopefully they’ll do a tour through Europe aswell.
