Early Screening of Haruhi Movie in San Francisco

15 April 2010 23 Comments

A new clip from the ASOS Brigade was released showing Christina watching a trailer of The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya. At the end of the clip is an announcement that on May 21, 2010 the Viz Theatre will get an early North American screening of the film, the first on this side of the Pacific. Viz Theatre is located in San Francisco, California (1746 Post St.), if you live in the area visit http://www.newpeopleworld.com/films to check out their schedule and for more updates. Based on the timing of the screening, the movie will most likely be shown with subtitles. *Edit* Bandai Entertainment has further announced that the movie will also get a theatrical screening in Hawaii in mid-June.

Thanks to pureknitex and DaichigoTMHS for sending in the news tip. If you have Haruhi-related news or media to share, feel free to send it in.

Great news! Perhaps this means the DVD release may be in fall, both for the U.S. and Japan. Hope that’s true.

It’s being shown today. T_T I knew there was a reason I’m having such a bad day. I don’t live anywhere near California! I’ve wanted to see this so bad! I can’t wait for the DVD, which I’m hoping will be out this summer or fall. I’m so excited because this means the DVD might be out soon, but I’m sad because I can’t go! This will be sweet.

That’s good that other places in the world are getting the film but for us in the UK are screwed but I can understand as their is not a massive fan base in the UK that I know of. Looks like I will have to wait till the DVD / blue ray
