Haruhi-chan Manga Licensed for North America
Yenpress has recently licensed Puyo’s The Melancholy of Suzumiya-Haruhi-Chan manga for North American publication. The manga has been in publication since 2008 in Kadokawa Shoten’s Shonen Ace. Most fans believed the gag manga would not see the light of day overseas so a scanlation group has been (slowly) translating the chapters.
In other Haruhi publication news, Little Brown Young Readers will be releasing the third volume of the Haruhi Suzumiya light novels (The Boredom of Haruhi Suzumiya) in July; at current pace, the next volume should be ready in another 5-6 months. Last month, Little Brown Young Readers requested that Baka-Tsuki cease and remove all English fan translation projects of the novels from its website.
