Haruhi and the crew move to a enclosed lot with a lake (it’s more like a stagnant pond) to film more of the movie. She gives Mikuru a new contact, but Yuki tackled Mikuru immediately to remove it and remove whatever powers Haruhi wished onto her this time. Mikuru insists on going on with the movie because she believes it is the only way to appease Haruhi, she even agrees to be dumped into the lake. Tsuruya suggests they bring the soaked Mikuru to her house (more like a palace) nearby to dry off and film the next part of the movie indoors.

Haruhi arranges for some sweet sake to be placed in Mikuru’s drink in order to get her drunk enough to film a kiss scene with Itsuki. Seeing Mikuru being bullied like this, Kyon can not longer hold back anymore and protests, forcing Itsuki to hold him back when he was about to hit Haruhi. The filming is temporarily stopped and Haruhi becomes depressed because she always believed Kyon would support her no matter what she does. Itsuki tells Kyon that although no closed spaces have formed, he should still go make up with Haruhi. Initially stubborn, Kyon realizes what he must say to Haruhi after a conversation with Taniguchi. Kyon’s apology works almost too well because Haruhi is even more excited than before, even causing cherry blossoms to bloom out of season for filming their movie. Haruhi’s next big idea for the movie is for Yuki to get a cat.
