Suzumiya Haruhi 2009 episode 9: Endless Eight

With this episode ends the Endless Eight run at 15,532 loops. There isn’t anything new here until you hit about the last five minutes. Kyon is finally able to take action before Haruhi leaves the restaurant on the last day of summer vacation. He suggests that everyone come to his house to finish their summer homework. It was nice to see Haruhi get flustered for once because she wasn’t the one who came up with the idea, but she comes anyways. Kyon wakes up the next day to September 1st.
With iteration hell now over, next week should be a brand new episode with original content unless KyoAni has more tricks to throw at us 
so all he had to do was his friggin’ homework assingment!? I never I’d hate summer break so much.
At the end of this one I was overjoyed by the sheer sense of relief. On the one hand the whole thing was a tedious spot-the-difference exercise, but it’s also a missed opportunity.
I mean, if Nagato mentioned some variations, why the hell didn’t we see any of them? I’m sure there was a way to make all eight episodes interesting, but the writer appeared to be avoiding work…

I love MoHS but this has got to be the most exhausting arc of all time. I wanted Kyon to make a move so bad, do something, ANYTHING! Take Koizumi’s advice and “embrace Suzumiya from behind and whisper ‘I love you’ in her ear”.
But the punchline is homework.
Oh, the humanity.
Tiring.. yes.. I think it didn’t need to be repeated so much I know but I think it was okay to watch.
There were small differences in every episode but even then it still wasn’t satisfying.
Well i wouldn’t whine much since I think this is some sort of “Its so stupid its brilliant!” kind of thing..
I mean they clearly got the point to the viewers.. Imagine going through that 15,532 times..!! Poor Yuki!!!! Think of it she remembers everything… wow… poor Nagato.
Well.. definetely not as good as 1st season but satisfying enough with the other episodes.
I think the reason KyoAni did this was to make the movie.. but still come on..! You lost some fanbase cuz of this!
the endless eight really made me feel how Kyon does after one of his ordeals. I’m glad i got to see this. I’ll never underestimate Haruhi’s powers ever again. I hope we can all hope that the rest of the brigade is spared from any of the hard problems, cause that might mean something worse than the 8. Maybe even a 9…
I actually liked Endless Eight – Just thought it should have been more like Endless Four or Endless Six, lol. Can’t wait for season three!

I agree with O’Malley that 3-4 episodes would have been perfect for all of the fans, although the full 8 episodes made me feel sorry for Nagato in disappearance even more.
It was very interesting but I only did endless up to 6 and skipped 7. I was expecting more from the ending because of so much episodes. Hope they be more smarter next summer
