The second season of Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu is finally here! The episode count continues from where we left off nearly three years ago with episode 13. The new episode (ep14) is titled Bamboo Leaf Rhapsody and looks to have a good deal of Kyon-Mikuru air time

New OP: Super Diver by Hirano Aya (Haruhi’s Seiyuu and singer of the OP in the first season also). Although they tried for the pop art feel with this new anime opening, I can’t say I’m a big fan of it. Hirano-san’s voice can do better than this – just think back to the first OP.

After being teased with Bamboo Rhapsody, I didn’t dare hope that they’d air episodes anytime soon. Usually teasers mean “here’s something to carry you fans over for 6 months.”

But it’s here. I’m so excited. ^_^

I agree about the OP though… it’s not bad at all, but her voice feels oversung. Like she’s trying too hard. Perhaps it’s a matter of taste, but I would’ve preferred a more natural sounding vocal.

Regardless, it doesn’t hurt my ears, and it’s what comes after the opening that I want to see most. =)
