We’ve got confirmation of the DVD and BluRay release date of the Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya movie from several Japanese websites. As long as Bandai doesn’t run into another “processing error” like the did with the second season English DVDs, Suzumiya Haruhi no Shoshitsu will be hitting shelves (in Japan at least) on December 18th — just in time for Christmas.
Here’s what will be offered with the limited edition Bluray:

A member of our forums (Ansem’s Way) recently attended the Japan Expo in Paris, France where Kadokawa Pictures was hosting a booth showcasing production sketch artwork and key animation cels from the Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya movie.  He was able to snap a bundle of photos to share with us, view them below.  None of the animation cels or sketches were for sale at the showcase.  Unfortunately, no new news of the DVD release date of the movie outside Japan was announced at Japan Expo.

A recent documentary on BBC 3 (a British television channel) featured Beckii Cruel (Rebecca Flint), a 14-year-old girl from the Isle of Man who has become an Internet celebrity and popstar in Japan. Beckii became famous after posting videos of herself dancing to J-pop using her own choreography. She did this secretly, without telling her parents. Beckii commonly cosplays in Haruhi Suzumiya costumes and has done covers for songs like Bouken Desho Desho? and Hare Hare Yukai. Bandai recently hosted an anime panel at Otakon 2010 (July 30-Aug 1) in Baltimore, Maryland where they released information about the second season of Haruhi Suzumiya DVD, the Dissapearance of Haruhi Suzumiya movie, along with other Bandai licenses including Gurren Lagann, K-ON! and Gundam Unicorn. The official release date for the second season DVDs is set for September 14, 2010. Voice actresses Stephanie Sheh and Christina Vee were on hand to answer panel questions and perform live dubbing. Just a heads up to all those who are lucky enough to be attending the 2010 Comic-Con in San Diego this year.  As announced by the ASOS Brigade on their facebook page, there will be a Haruhi Season 2 English Convention Premiere on Thursday, Friday and Saturday of the Con (that’s July 22-24) and it will take place at 5pm each day at the Marriott Hall: Room 5.
