Kadokawa recently posted on its youtube channel Aya Hirano and Minori Chihara’s top three favorite scenes from the Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya Movie. Kadokawa Shoten has released three Haruhi themed apps called AniPokes for the iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad for both the US and Japan. The AniPokes use Motion Portrait technology previously used in Haruhi Suzumiya games. AniPokes allows the user to interact with the characters including limited speech recognition with changing facial expressions. The Japanese publisher Kadokawa Shoten ran an advertisement in Thursday’s edition of the Nihon Keizai Shimbun paper to say that The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya light novel has sold over one million copies. According to Kadokawa, Nagaru Tanigawa’s first Haruhi Suzumiya novel is the first light novel to reach this milestone. The advertisement does not specify if the number is for Japan only or worldwide.
